The holiday season is now in full force. Downtown Seattle is bedazzled in sparkling things, the tree is lit up, and shoppers are beginning to amass in full force. There are certain parts of this time of year that I prefer over others. My favorite part, however, is all of the delicious meals that are served at this time of year. That includes roasts, and specifically this Ribeye Roast by Healthy Recipes.
Vered DeLeeuw of Healthy Recipes has composed what might be the easiest to follow recipe I’ve come across to date. So simple and straightforward with an insanely delectable outcome. Look at the image of that Ribeye Roast above. Take a minute, I’ll wait. Are you back? Have you wiped away the accumulated saliva that is sure to be running from your mouth? Then let’s proceed.
Roasts are perfect for this time of year. They make the house smell absolutely amazing, they come in a wide variety of sizes to feed groups whether they be large or small, and they minimize the amount of time you need to spend in the kitchen so you can socialize and enjoy time with your guests instead of with your head over the stove. Unless that is your excuse to avoid awkward conversations, then just come up with some fancy side dish to hold you in the kitchen strategically. Am I guilty of such selfish and reclusive strategies in my own kitchen? Absolutely not…I’m always hard at work on the next dish, that requires a full glass of wine to ensure it turns out properly, of course.
Wine Pairing Suggestion: Cabernet Sauvignon
This is the recipe so many of you have been waiting for, one that pairs well with Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Sauvignon has worked its way to being one of the default varietal purchases by wine consumers. Don’t get me wrong, I love Cabernet Sauvignon, but it isn’t always the right fit for what you are eating. Today, however, it is just what the doctor ordered. So whether you go with a leathery, new oak intensive California Cab, or a bold and beautiful Red Mountain Cab out of Washington State, you’re likely going to be okay in pairing either with the Ribeye Roast. Let’s explore some Washington options.
